Dear Boy,

Sam really struggled with sleep this morning, so after my shower I went and got him out of bed. Now he's asleep in my arms and I could honestly hold him all day. I waited a long time for him and gave up hope that he was coming.  He is such a gift and a miracle.  As my last baby, I want to relish this. I want to always remember what it's like to have a little one. I feel so protective of him. It was gut-wrenching to have him circumcised, especially when we brought him back to the room and I could see up close how traumatized he was. It's painful to be a parent; more painful than just being a human. But it's also a lot more joyful and fun. I love this life with you and our kids.

You're so wonderful. You are such a good friend to our kids. You help me all the time. You do so much to make our lives full and our home somewhere that we all love to be. You are so kind to stay by me and be a friend to me even though sometimes I'm a disappointment. I am so grateful for you. I'm so amazed by you. I love you more than my heart ever thought it could love.
