Hey Boy.

Nice house. I like it a lot. I like you in it. I like watching you sleep in it. Like right now. It's after Christmas and before the new year and I'm in our warm bed. You're sleeping here next to me and I've been watching you. I wondered what you were like as a boy. You probably looked like Nolan, but I wonder what you were really like. You were still the same spirit. Anyway, I think perhaps I've done some to ruin your little boy dreams. Maybe your older boy dreams as well. Because I sure have foiled my own dreams on most days. A lot of days I walk away disappointed and maybe leaking a tear or two. And I'm so sure that I am to blame.

But

I'm sure I've said this before and I will surely say this again (because I'm always either falling or getting back up): I'm not ready to give up. I'm not disillusioned by my dream. I am only discouraged by my own shoddy attempts to live my dream. I imagine that you will find it more possible to be what you want to be when I am being what I should be.

Maybe I'm talking about dreaming so much because you are asleep and I'm about to go to sleep in this little green dream house.

In any case, I love you.

From your lady
